Pain contributes to activity avoidance. For individuals with persistent pain, activity avoidance can lead to deconditioning, lowered tolerance for physical activity, increased disability and ultimately, reduced quality of life.
Recent research has supported the view that returning to activity is critical to the success of rehabilitation for individuals with persistent pain conditions.
Our Psychology Services are aimed at working with your other providers or part of a multidisciplinary team based service to target psychosocial risk factors for pain and disability. It is tailored to meet the rehabilitation needs of individuals who are struggling to overcome the challenges associated with a wide range of persistent pain conditions or illness.
Proactive works with psychologists within each clinic and these services can be private or Insurer funded.
