Elton is a registered Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist, who has a passion for injury rehabilitation. He is particularly interested in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation and concussion management. He has spent most of his career working in private practice and immediate post-acute neuro-rehabilitation settings in South Africa, where he conducted neuropsychological assessment and tailored interventions for patients with brain injury, stroke, and disease. He specialised in completing medico-legal assessments with the SA Road Accident Fund for more than 10 years, and also was a consultant clinician on two sports concussion management programs. He was a Guest Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg for a few years, lecturing on aspects of neuropsychological assessment. Elton was also on the Executive Committee of the South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association (SACNA) from 2012 to 2018, where he served as President for 2 years. Currently, Elton is enjoying the new challenge of working in managed healthcare and injury rehab in New Zealand, where he heads up the Psychology team within Proactive. When he’s not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys music and fly fishing.
