In recent years, more and more has been uncovered in regards to how our mindset – our emotional state, beliefs, attitudes and state of stress – influence our body’s ability to recover from an injury or other setback. And taking time to try to understand the recovery process actually promotes recovery, because it creates realistic expectations of the recovery pathway.
Stress also has an effect on our mindset, and your body, which can slow the healing and recovery process. So while it’s important to keep active, it’s equally important that clients take the time to actively and intentionally relax.
Wavering motivation will also impede your recovery. So our physios are trained to find ways to adjust the way they are working with you in order to keep you motivated and ensure you nudge yourself enough to keep moving forward while preventing any risk of setbacks.
