Proactive’s bid to retain its North Island – wide Vocational Rehabilitation Contract with ACC has recently been confirmed as successful. Proactive previously provided services under a joint venture subsidiary – VocHealth New Zealand Ltd. Looking to consolidate its service offerings and to facilitate integration Vocational Rehabilitation Services into its array of community rehabilitation services, moves were made to dissolve VocHealth back into Proactive in early 2017.
Proactive CEO, Brendon Tod says that the announcement of the success in the Vocational Rehab Service tender process brings security to Proactive and its network of licensed providers, enabling continued investment into service improvement initiatives, meaning better rehabilitation services to New Zealanders.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Service aims to help facilitate a safe, sustainable and early return to work for people requiring time off work due to injury. “We know that getting back to your job in a safe way as early as possible following injury, or finding new work if you can’t return to your old job, leads to an overall better result in your recovery” says Tod. “Helping people back to work early and sustainably also has huge benefits for the workplace, and for New Zealand’s economy overall” he continues.
Proactive provides a range of rehabilitation and medical services, holding Pain Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Concussion and Community Rehabilitation Contracts with ACC. Proactive takes a holistic approach to service delivery, focussing on helping a client to enhance their wellbeing even while rehabilitating from serious injury or illness. “Our aim is to help a person come out the other side of their injury with resilience and a better understanding of their health and wellbeing overall.” In delivering its services, Proactive utilises a range of health professionals to deliver services to clients through a Multidisciplinary Team, meaning that it has the ability to give clients early access to health professionals with the skills to meet their unique needs.
